National Grid and Eversource Invite Community Members to Attend New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee Public Information Sessions on the Merrimack Valley Reliability Project

MANCHESTER, NH – National Grid and Eversource will participate in two Public Information Sessions hosted by the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee (SEC) on the Merrimack Valley Reliability Project (MVRP). The MVRP is a proposed new overhead transmission line between Londonderry, NH, and Tewksbury, MA. Approximately 18 miles of the new lines will pass through Londonderry, Hudson, Windham, and Pelham in New Hampshire within existing utility rights-of-way.

The proposed transmission improvement will strengthen the electric system to better serve homes and businesses in southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts. As part of the approval process, Eversource and National Grid filed an application with the New Hampshire SEC on August 5, 2015 to construct and operate the proposed transmission line, and the application was deemed complete by written order on October 5, 2015.

The Public Information Sessions are required by the SEC siting process and provide an opportunity for members of the public to register questions or comments on the project with the SEC.

Both National Grid and Eversource will have project team members available to speak with residents, along with maps and detailed project materials.
