Public meetings held in Windham, Pelham on Wednesday, Thursday.
By TONY SCHINELLA (Patch Staff) March 10, 2015
In response to the identification of urgent electric system reliability needs for the Greater Boston and southern New Hampshire area by ISO New England, the region’s independent power system operator, National Grid and Eversource have proposed a cost-effective plan that can be readily implemented, according to a press statement.
The Greater Boston and New Hampshire Solution will meet the area’s reliability needs and bolster the region’s current and future economic growth.
One component of the solution, the Merrimack Valley Reliability Project, includes a new transmission line running through Pelham for approximately five miles and Windham for about two miles within an existing right-of-way. National Grid and Eversource are hosting community meetings in both towns to begin a dialogue with residents and business owners and to discuss the plans, hear comments, and answer questions.
These meetings are open to the public.
