Open house Thursday in Hudson on power line upgrade project

HUDSON – Public discussions of major energy projects tend to be contentious affairs, but a gathering in Hudson on Thursday, providing details on a half-billion-dollar transmission upgrade, may be quieter.

The open house and public information session will be held at Hudson Memorial School from 5:30-9 p.m., with engineers and utility officials on hand to discuss plans to run 345-kilovolt lines through Londonderry, Hudson, Windham and Pelham, then into Massachusetts, using an existing power line right of way that has held lines for years.
